A narrative has a beginning, middle and end.
A personal narrative is non-fiction. It contains an introduction, body (beginning, middle, end) and a conclusion.
This is a great organizer for your narrative piece. Remember: a narrative is a story. Stories have elements such as characters, setting, problem, main events, resolution (solution) and an extended ending.
Entertaining beginning (question, action, dialogue)
Description of setting (where, when, who are the main characters?)
Build suspense (What is the problem? What are characters hearing, feeling, seeing, etc?)
Main events (dialogue, action, characters' feelings) This is where most of the writing is taking place!!!
Conclusion (resolution to the problem)
Extended ending (wishes, hopes, feelings of characters) Leave the reader thinking!
